Watches for heavy rain, snow and robust winds at the moment are in place for the Canterbury Excessive Nation.
A launch from the MetService, issued on Sunday morning, says a deepening low and an energetic entrance are anticipated to cross southern New Zealand on Monday, preceded by robust and moist northwesterlies and adopted by a powerful chilly southerly change.
“Warnings and watches for heavy rain, heavy snow and extreme gales at the moment are in pressure for components of central and southern New Zealand. Individuals are suggested to maintain updated with the newest forecasts in case any modifications are made, or additional areas are added,’’ it says.
The heavy rain watch, legitimate from 3pm-11pm on Monday, applies to the headwaters of the Canterbury lakes and rivers south of Arthurs Go.

The heavy snow watch applies to the Canterbury Excessive Nation south of the Rangitata River and is legitimate from Monday 5pm to Tuesday, 3am.
