A&E will study groundbreaking Hip Hop performers as a part of a brand new documentary sequence set to debut on Memorial Day.
The eight-hour sequence, Origins of Hip Hop, will debut on Might 30 and can concentrate on the lives and careers of such iconic rap artists as Grandmaster Flash, Ice-T, Busta Rhymes, Eve, Fats Joe, Ja Rule, Uncle Luke and Lil Jon, in accordance with community officers.
Every hour of the sequence will delve into one of many style’s greatest stars, tracing their path from the place their tales started to their final success, stated the community.
“Origins of Hip Hop expands our boundary-pushing nonfiction programming slate and celebrates the artists and sounds which have helped outline a style and tradition,” stated Elaine Frontain Bryant, EVP and Head of Programming for A&E in an announcement. “Alongside our companions at Mass Enchantment, we’re excited to raise the voices and tales of this unbelievable group of artists who helped create and proceed to form the style immediately.”

Origins of Hip Hop is govt produced by Peter Bittenbender and Slane Hatch, together with Bryant, Shelly Tatro and Brad Abramson. ■
